Theresa Morley CPA, CA is a local small business owner and Chartered Professional Accountant in Muskoka and Barrie. She is qualified as a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada and in South Africa. Theresa has 30 years of experience working with small and medium sized businesses assisting companies by providing a range of accounting, bookkeeping, tax and financial services. She has an in-depth knowledge of the small business requirements for accounting, taxes, bookkeeping and government remittances. She is also an expert in developing the appropriate controls business owners need to put in place to ensure their businesses are protected from fraudulent activity. Theresa is an experienced and proficient user of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online as she uses these accounting software programs on a daily basis in her practice. She is a certified QuickBooks pro advisor and has an advanced QuickBooks online certification.
Theresa trained with the large multinational accounting firm of Deloitte and subsequently worked for several municipalities before starting her own practice. Theresa also has a post graduate Certificate in the Theory of Accounting from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) from the University of Kwazulu- Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Theresa and her husband Stuart formed Morley & Associates Inc in 1989 – a management consulting firm – and in 1993 they moved their young growing family to Muskoka where Theresa starting operating as Morley Accounting Services – a bookkeeping and tax preparation company. Morley Chartered Accountant was formed in 2001.
Theresa and Stuart are active members of the community and are involved in Rotary, the local Chambers of Commerce, BNI and several not for profit Boards. They enjoy spending time with their three grandchildren – Hannah, Martin and Rachael.
